Draft Day 1 2010

Draft Day 1 2010

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

It seems almost too much of a lock that the Rams will take Sam Bradford, and the Lions will then pick Ndamukong Suh. Too good to be true. I keep wondering perhaps if a part of me hasn’t been Lionized in that some things are too good to happen to the Lions. I usually don’t have a really strong feeling either way on who I want for a first round pick. This year, I would be disappointed if the Lions didn’t get Suh. I’d be really disappointed if they didn’t get him and didn’t manage a trade down either. At least a good trade down would negate some of the sting.

My gut tells me Suh is one heck of a player — both on the field with his effort, on the practice field, and off the field as a humble intelligent professional. He will be one heck of a great addition to Detroit, and might even prompt me to *gasp* buy my first Jersey ever for a current player. Maybe.

I’ll be helping with a Taekwondo class during the beginning of the draft tonight, but will check in later tonight and through the draft. Be sure to check out the other members of the Lions Congregation as they do live chats and twitter feeds, etc. I’ll be stopping into their respective places to say howdy this evening. Please leave your thoughts here as the draft unfolds, and I”ll be hopping in too in the comments.

For rounds 2 adn 3 tomorrow, I will be at a training class from 6 – 9 or so once again arriving late to the party — but I will be catching up and giving thoughts on the progress and what has happened.

It’s an exciting time to be a Lions fan! We have a real front office, and there are some exciting players/propects out there.

Go Lions!!
